Alan Kelly tutors in the Department of History, Trinity College Dublin, where he completed his doctorate. He has worked as a secondary school teacher and is author of The Struggle for Mastery in Ireland, 1442–1540: Culture, Politics and Kildare-Ormond Rivalry.
